Where is The San Francisco Dungeon?

The San Francisco Dungeon is at 145 Jefferson St. between Mason and Taylor. Right next to the new Madame Tussauds.

Is there parking?

Yes. There are many parking lots around Fisherman’s Wharf. Most of them are located on Beach Street.

How long will my visit last?

Tours consist of groups of a maximum of 36 people and last approximately 60 minutes.

Where can I buy tickets?

We recommend purchasing tickets online to guarantee your entry to the San Francisco Dungeon. By pre-purchasing your tickets online you will also benefit from our great online savings.

How do I make a group (10+) booking?

Are tickets refundable?

All tickets purchased are non-refundable. 

Do I need to reserve a time slot?

No. 

Does the Dungeon provide a military discount?

We do offer a discount to members of the military. This discount is available at the box office or through your corporate benefit provider. 

Age & Ride Restrictions

Are there any age restrictions for The San Francisco Dungeon?

The recommended age for The San Francisco Dungeon is 10 years and above. Many children enter The San Francisco Dungeon and enjoy the experience, but please be aware it does get very dark inside the building and there are lots of loud noises. We are not a movie, but a good guide is to think of the Dugneon as PG13.

If at any time you need to leave the attraction, simply speak to the actor in the show you are in and they will arrange for someone to help you to the nearest exit as soon as possible.

Guests 13 or under, must be accompanied by a person 18 or older.

Guests 14 or older many enter unaccompanied.

Escape Alcatraz Drop Ride Restrictions 

Guests cannot ride if:

  • Under 5 years of age
  • Under 45" in height
  • Over 79" in height
  • Cannot be secured by lap-bar
  • Unable to hold on or sit up straight unassisted

A few more  drop ride rules

  • Children between the ages of 5 and 10 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older
  • To ride without an adult you must be 55" tall and at least 10 years of age

Guests can

  • Bypass the drop ride if they don't wish to ride

And finally...

  • Animals cannot ride
  • Pregnant women, infirm persons, and anyone with a heart complaint ride at their own risk
  • Guests of larger upper body dimesions many not be able to ride if the lap bar is unable to lock. 

Shanghai Kelly

The ride is not accessible to wheelchair users or visitors who cannot use stairs. There is a height restriction on this ride of 48-inches); guests at this height can not ride. Guests who are 4 feet (1.2 meters) can ride without supervision. This ride is not recommended for visitors:

  • With back or Neck Complaints
  • Have broken limbs or have had recent surgery
  • Who are pregnant
  • That has a condition that may result in injury or complication from riding.

PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU MAY GET WET!

Can I leave my belongings or stroller somewhere whilst I do the tour?

Unfortunately we do not have anywhere for guests to store their items. All personal belonging must be taken with you at all times. Please be advised that we do have two flights of stairs throughout the tour and belongings and strollers must be carried up these. 

What do I need to do if I want to leave the attraction?

If at any time you need to leave the attraction, simply speak to the actor in the show you are in and they will arrange for someone to help you to the nearest exit as soon as possible.

Are there restrooms available in the attraction?

Our toilets are located before the start of your tour! We suggest you use them, if needed, before you begin your tour.

Weapons

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND MAY BE BROUGHT IN TO THE SAN FRANCISCO DUNGEON.

Can I wear a costume?

Guests are not permitted to wear costumes or masks of any kind for the safety of our staff and guests.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The San Francisco Dungeon is scary fun for everyone, except very young guests and wimps! Our recommended age is 10 years old and above.
